i am considering buying a trailer sailor and i'm wondering if the cat 25 is a reasonable choice? can it be launched at a ramp reasonably easy? how about rigging? i would probably use the boat every other weekend and for vacations.

the cat 25 is a great boat for sailing on weekends and vacations. if your going to trailer i would suggest the swing keel. you will able to get into more bodies of water due to the draft.

Dear Doug A,
It's a great trailerable unit. Not bad to rig. It seems that when people replace their old tow vehicle, at least at out Marina, they're upgrading to 3/4 ton.

Doug: Always another opinion on this forum! I have a C-25 Swinger. I trailer it a coupl'a times a year, but I keep her in the water during most of the year. I think it probably takes me somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 1/2 hour to splash, rig, tune (a little), then rig sheets, halyards, radio antenna, masthead fly, etc. It surely can be done with a boat w/o roller furling, etc., but for my money a much smaller boat would be easier to tow/rig, etc. for a daysail or weekend. I hate to mess with it unless I am going for a week or more. Maybe I am just getting old.....but I love going down to her in her slip and being underway in 10 minutes or less (not counting the washdown). I did own a Windrose 18 that I drysailed. It was very do-able. I haven't owned a C-22, but if I was you, I'd look into it. Perhaps you could find someone to let you help splash and rig a C-25. Then you'd really have a better idea of how much it takes and whether you're willing to do it every time you want to use the boat. Good luck, Gary (I'm near Portland, OR...if you're near, come help me!)
