My 1981 C-25 has a Ray Jeff LCD200 depth finder installed in the bulkhead between the cockpit and the cabin. Does anyone know where I can get it repaired? Thanks.

I did a quick search and I had a tough time finding out where these are made or if the company is even still in business. Most Depth finders are under 2 boat units, (200 bucks) you might be better served getting a new unit.
If it is one of the big round ones, it is not cost effective to get this fixed. Replacements are far and few between. I think most people abandon in place and install a fishfinder. It provides WAY more info than an oldschool sounder.
Thanks for the reply Duane and Tom. Yes, the unit is one of the big round ones (approx 5" dia X 6" long). Like you, I couldn't find any info on the net about the manufacturer or specs on the unit. I've also E-mailed Catalina Yachts and Catalina Direct but haven't heard from them yet. I think I'll take your advice and start looking at the new fish/depth finders. I would like to be able to use the existing transducer since it appears to be an in-hull unit but I'm guessing it wouldn't be a match with a new unit. Do you know if a through-hull transducer would work with my boat or is the hull too thick for the sonar to transmit through? Mike
You most likely will want to use the recommended transducer for the new unit if you go that way. Plenty of info in the archives on how to mount it.
If you try to get a replacement unit you may be able to use the old transducer. The ones I have seen use an "rca" type connector. The Big rouund ones were made by all the big names and come up for sale every now and then.
Keep an eye on ebay. I got the one I have because the title had a typo. I still would rather have a fancy fishfinder.
