I have looked and cant seem to fine out what model CDI the 250wb came with. Mine was missing when I got the boat and would now like to replace it. Also any pros and cons on this model would be great

My C250WK came with a CDI Flexible Furler 2, or FF2.

By the way, the cup on my furler got dented during transport. I called CDI today to order. Normal price is $60. He said that he felt bad about my having to order a new part before I've even sailed the boat, and sold the replacement to me for half off, $30 (plus shipping). Nice guy, makes me want to do more business with him...

Frogger, the ball bearing eases the effort on the furling line a little compared to the nylon bushing bearing. The nylon bearing needs cleaning yearly. For some reason it acumulates a coating of dirt and then drags pretty bad. It's not that hard to clean with a bit of alchohol but between the necessity of cleaning regularly and the greater ease, the ball bearing is a reasonable upgrade.

On the plus side, the nylon bearing offers enough drag that releasing the furling line works well to set the sail...with the ball bearing, I find myself retaining the furler line while the sail is filling.

Thanks for the info. Still a decision I must to make. I have had no problems with the furler and like the way it works, but I will give it a good cleaning as you suggest. PM frequently solves a lot of potential problems.
