Is anyone using Fortress anchors as the working hook on the 250? The FX-11 is the recommended size for the boat, but how well does it fit into the anchor locker (with 20' of chain and 200' rode)?

Also, if anyone is using a secondary anchor off the stern (to prevent sailing around the rode), what size has worked well?

I purchased a 13lb anchor / rode package from west marine and am happy with it. It fits just right into the anchor locker. I wrapped some black electrical tape around the ends of the anchor pivot bar so it doesnt mar the fiberglass in the locker.

IMHO, best ground tackle combo is 25' of 1/4" chain, 190' of nylon rode, and the largest Bruce that will fit in the locker. A Bruce is an all terrain hook, the Danforth ONLY for sand or mud. I have a small Danforth with a short chain and rode in the aft port lazerette as a "lunch hook".
