The most significant change is the addition of the wing keel around hull number 230 or so.
The rudder issue was big and saw three generations. The first did not have enough control, the second had adequate control but not balanced it required majore helm effort and the 3rd has adequate control with balance to save the arm albeit the shorter 3rd is not suitable for aggressive sailing or autpilot use in more demanding conditions.
A good many other changes are worth mentioning. '97 year model saw several changes; a coaming step, a dedicated propane locker, catbird seats, fresh water tank to V berth, double reef in main, attempts to offer a tall rig on the wing keel and a 150 genoa.
Along the way without fingering the year model change; companion way steps were changed from teak to high density plastic, the companionway hatch was changed from a full lexan to a fiberglass with a smaller light, the high density plastic lid on fuel locker was changed to a fiberglass and hinged, the location of backstay chain plate points have had a couple of changes, addition of marine head option, change from push/pull cable to two cable pull/pull on the wheel steering, change of shroud chain plates on the water ballast to same system used on wing keel, modifications to cable design for center board, a stop block on the center board, a few cosmetic changes within such as fiddles across the galley.
