We solved the problems we had launching. Used to have to use a tow strap to launch and recover JD. The reason (towing with our 95 Chevy Blazer SUV) was the bow bunk would be so far out of the water that we could not get the boat off it or back on it. Using the tow strap allowed us to put the boat and trailer deeper in the water and so launch ok.
Solved... thanks to Ford! New 2005 F150 5.4 4x4 Lariat. Tows like a dream, and can launch using the extended tounge.
So now we have the truck to pull JD to the Nationals this year.
Darn Paul, wish I would have known, I could have gotten you the X plan deal, might have saved you some bucks. Anyway, congrads on your new truck. My company gives me a new F150 4x4 each year, I drive 10 states for work and put about 60K on one each year. Haven't had any problems with my 2005.
:-) and I thought Maroone Ford gave us such a deal. It included a $2,000 hurricane Wilma insurance claim discount :)
We had the name put on the boat by one of my clients. He did a real nice job, looks awesome (but then I'm biased), he also put the name on the side of the truck and gave us a couple of spare name sets for use on a tender if we get one. (or could use them on the inside as wall paper :) I guess i should get some Catalina 250 Logo's to put on the truck windows. Trying to get used to wearing my baseball cap back to front and thinking about buying one of those bandana things. Need to get a couple of packs of jerky to finish things off!
