Went sailing again this past weekend, had a great time. Spent two nights on her. Here are some photos. Next weekend I think I'll finally get around to painting her. In the second picture, there was this little seagull who stayed just 10 feet off the stern at about 6 feet in the air, for almost fifteen minutes. I think it was catching a ride on the wind deflecting off my sails because it didn't flap it's wings too often... Also I think it was looking for fish behind my boat.

Thanks for sharing! It did my PNW heart good to see your pics. However our rainy days make it easier to stay behind my desk for another 2 1/2 months. And our little lake is filling all the while.
Thanks for the pictures for it is snowing outside. I now feel better knowing someone is out there. I think I have had that same seagull checking me. Someone said that when a sailor comes back he's a ...
Great pics Dave. Here in Michigan, it is suppose to be sub zero until March but it has been in the 40s for the last month and everyone is on the hard scratching their heads. At some point, I am going to have the marina put the boat back in the water and just bubble it if needed. Cheers.
usually, once a week (on a saturday or sunday), I make a journey down to the boat yard and give my boat a drive by. Saturday day here was one that has people just going crazy for spring. It was in the 40's and sunny. In fact, I was grocery shopping and wearing cargo pants and a t-shirt. The sun was warm enough to keep you comfortable. I drove by my boat on the way home to see most of the snow melting off the covers. There were a few other people around doing some under-cover work. I drove home along the lake road (I live on a lake) and kept looking at the dark blue water with about 10-12 mph wind on it thinking to myself how great it would be to have some way of sailing in the winter. But most years, this lake is frozen across this time of year, so that is not really a practical thought, but it is a dream just the same. I could picture myself out there, all bundled up with the sun keeping me company and my shoulders warm, while that old friend, The Wind, keeps reminding me that it is indeed January, regardless of what Mr. Sun is saying.
