Has anyone used a Wichard locking shackle to attach chain to anchor? My bow anchor shackle and swivel are siezed with wire but my stern anchor setup is a little different.I keep a Danforth mounted on the starboard stern pulpit post, the rode is coiled in a 5 gal. bucket in the port locker. Before I'm ready to deploy I set the bucket in the cokpit then it's a simple hook up when I'm ready to anchor.
For some reason this shackle not being wired has bothered me but I can't figure out how it would ever come unscrewed.Any thoughts ?
Thanks, Craig

Is the bitter end tied off?
Coat the threads with a few drops of Locktite.
