The past few days I spent some free time researching how I could make my own site. I came across www.sailblogs.com and it looks like a good option. I enjoy reading other peoples' stories of their cruises and work they have done to their boats. That's one reason why I like this forum so much as well. I also found http://www.zoto.com/ which gives you 2 GB of free photo storage and hosting. So, I'm using the two to create my own web page. Right now there isn't much on my page that I have not already posted on here, but I plan to use it with family and friends and put my future adventures on it. Just thought I'd share the info in case anyone else wants to create their own site or store photos online for free.

Thanks, my hull is actually navy blue. Each time I've taken pictures it's been overcast out which doesn't show the colors well. I need a nice sunny day to show the blue. Williamsport, I did a google search on it and found it's in PA. I'm just west of Washington, DC.
Hi Justin, I am not sure what ISP you are using but Comcast (my ISP) provides the framework and tools and space to set up my own webpage....just havn't gotten to it. You might also look at your own ISP. Cheers.
Nice site Justin. I've been using photobucket and blgspot for pretty much the same thing you are doing. I want to document on line the projects I've done. This forum is a has a wealth of knowledge, but it's sometimes difficult to find. Anyone who has a Capri will be able to easily check my or Chris' site for information and how to's
Between Cox cable as my ISP and .mac as my digital nadir I am pretty happy. If you are a Mac user and do not use .mac you are missing a big part of the mac experience.
I have Adelphia and they limit your website to 10 MB for free. That's not much at all especially compared to 2 gigs free. I may not be able to completely customize sailblog any way I want as a site, but it's easy to use and I can still make some changes. Well, actually I could still use Adelphia and host the images off of zoto. I didn't think about that. I haven't looked into how easy it is to design a page with Adelphia, but I know these blog sites are very simple. I just looked at photobucket.com. I've heard about it before, but didn't look into it. One nice thing I noticed with zoto that photobucket doesn't do, is you can upload your original files and you're not limited to a 500kb file size. I've been uploading my 5 megapixel photos and it will display it in lower resolution, but you can click to view or download the originals or many other sizes. So, it can be a good way to back up your photos online for free.
Justin, that picture at the top of your page is fantastic. You could submit it to MD or Chesapeake tourist bureau. Next time we drive through, bet it will be on the cover of the brochures in Maryland House. Nice
