Me and the rest of the crew put in quite and effort yesterday on the Ericson 38 race boat in 2 races on San Diego Bay. I was on foredeck in brisk winds. The owner, David, was rewarded with 2 second place finishs, which was good enough to win PHRF Class C for the day. He took home a nice trophy. I enjoyed the day but am beat physically today. Foredeck is hard work especially when the marks are close.
This time I joined the crew at Fiddlers Green, a bar and grill that serves as the club for the Cortez Racing Association. Hundreds of owners and crew turned up. Trophies were handed out and the club provided free hamburgers for happy hour.
The commodore from CRA came around to all the tables, handing out raffle tickets for crew only. Before trophies were handed out, they held a drawing. There were many prizes: CRA hats, tee-shirts, coasters, etc. I think they gave out about 25 prizes.
I thought this was really classy, none of the boat owners would be sitting in the winners circle without their crews and it was a great way to send some of us home with prizes as well.
Jim, You probably don't know just how good your post sounds, I really appreciated it. On the coins opposit side picture me driving a diesel tractor with bucket and blade trying to get the best of 24" of heavy snow and still snowing. They expect it will end by eight tonight.
Hi Val, post pics if you get a chance, I'd love to see it. I do not mind huge amounts of snow...it reminds me of real winter. The last year I attended Northern Michigan University, we had 387 inches of snow. It was cool. Cheers.
Hi Jim, I think that is a great idea. We use to do that twenty five years ago for our Saturday races and the owners never minded chipping in. Cheers.
Sorry about the snow. I am holding down the fort here in Hawaii. The Pro-bowl was fun. Got up close to a lot of the players. It was nice and laid back as it should be in HI.
They are experiencing record cold temps here as well. It is in the 50's at night here....Brrrr. Aloha, Tom.

Every boat must include a thin hot bikini clad gal sunbathing on the deck. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
