Funny.
Reminds me of Herman the German, a guy with a heavy German accent and a slim English vocabulary. I met Herman while scuba diving in Australia years ago. After a dive, we were showering and shaving and he kept rubbing his face and asking for 'Zoup'. So naturally I thought he wanted some soup, or that maybe he was asking me if I was going for lunch. I didn't know, what he wanted, so I kept on shaving.
Finally I figured out he wanted my shaving cream. My Shaving soap.
Thanx for the laugh.

since I only speak one language, like most Americans, I wont make fun of accents. One of these days I'll take some Spanish classes to help out what I'm learning on my own. What I have learned on construction sites, or on the streets sometimes is not good for polite company.
When I lived in Puerto Rico in the 70's I had a girlfriend who spoke English, Spanish, and Norweigan (and a Viking dialect of Norweigen at that)
Have you noticed that whenever they interview a European athelete at the Olympics, they speak English too?

Or the one about my friend waiting for a bus in Boston. Asked a guy which bus to take and he said the Pack Street bus. My friend waited a long time and saw plenty of Park Street busses but no Pack Street ones.

This story might date me, but my wife and her cousin where sitting in an Arbby's and after taking a bite of her sandwich, my wife said, "Roy Rogers is better", without missing a lick, her cousin said, "I didn't know he was sick!".
