I am looking to "rig up" my helm with some electronics using a Navpod attached to the pedestal guard. Also, wouldl like to see any tables, cupholders, etc... Do any of you have pictures of your helm that I could look at? I am looking for ideas. Thank you!!
Here's my set up and I wouldn't change anything on it:
After I installed the pedestal guard, I determined the seat height (stacked books on the fuel locker) then sat down and slid the NavPod up and down until I could just see over it, sitting down. Visibility is good standing up, also. I have an electric start Honda, with remote, so I transferred all the switches and lights from the remote to the NavPod.
I made a template on my Mac and taped it to the Navpod then just cut everything out:
Be careful how near the edge of the NavPod you mount anything. Check that you have enough clearance when you put the back on, and that you're not cutting into a screw hole.
Just get the layout right before you cut anything, and it's a fun project.
