I am a Jaguar 25 owner in England ("old England" as opposed to "New England" , which is far prettier!). The Jaguar 25 was a "built under license" copy of the Catalina 25. Most parts are interchangeable - the main difference being the logo has a J and not a C !
This week, i discovered someone has stolen my rudder, tiller and outboard.
I was wondering if anyone has plans / dimensions / construction instructions for the rudder that they could email to me. If you can, i am indebted to you.
My boat is a twin keel version, which i think is something of a rarity over there. The rudder is the same as that of the fin keel (ie not lifting).
Thanks once again,
James Young "Dream Weaver", Jaguar 25, Fareham, England.
I have a picture of the new (balanced)rudder somewhere and would be glad to transmit one to you but I haven't deciphered exactly how one does that,(new format problem with me). I think it would be easiest for you to look up the information in the archives herein. If for some reason you are not privvy to such info let me know and I'll see what I can do. It's likely that you will get more responses here if you change that exclaimation point to a question mark,( the one accenting the old from the new Englands). Just a thought.

P.S. Wish the twin keel was available here, thin water. <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> Hi all,

No need for a question mark - New England is far prettier than "old" England - i've been there. I think maybe it reads differently to an American to how an Englishman would read it.
Hello, James... I don't know whether you had the "balanced" rudder, but it is a considerable improvement over the original design, which had all of its area aft of the pivot line. For detailed measurements of the balanced rudder, see http://c25c250.best.vwh.net/restricted/brudder3.gif ... the Tech Tips in the C-25/250 Owners Association site.
All the best from beautiful New England,

Truly a blessing in disguise, comments here refer to the balanced rudder as, "power steering". Unfortunately no such positive remarks to do with the loss of a motor unless you were needing an excuse to buy a new Honda. With regard to my comment to do with exclamation/question marks the site didn't run the smily face indicating an attempt at levity. Sorry if it sounded sour.
