We would like to supplement our manual bilge pump system with an electric bilge pump unit. Any recommendations on electric bilge pump make/models for a 1980 Cat 25? gpm rating? OD hose size? Is it practical to tie the manual pump discharge and the electric discharge hoses together at point of exit? Recently, we have gotten a lot of rain (and high water) in the St. Louis area and want to keep her dry. Thanks for this service.

I would recommend Rule pumps. They are good quality, run well and are inexpensive. Get at least one size bigger than you think you need. They are rated based on a very short, (if any), hose run.
