Sean, I noticed in a couple of your pictures you have those small stick on lights, over your galley and in your V-berth. What do you think about them? How long do they last on a set of batterys?
not very long ,But they are cheap and I put them all over, under the sink is the best help .I have one on both sides of the rear berth those look great when you sit at the table. Were on a moring so saveing the volts is nice. I velcroed them to the ceiling so their easy to move. also the light is not real bright perfect for me sets the mood nice.
I started with a sheet of marine plywood (better glue I`m told) you have to cut the leafs first . I think the center is 12" (so you can use the support piece from the old table) Then slide the three pieces together and trace the old table on the wood.I jig sawed it and sanded.

The orginial looks like formica.I thought it might chip if I cut it.Plus you would have a raw edge to match when its folded down. I always prefur changes you could go back to orginial (in case you like the old way better after its done)
Sound decision, Sean. The original table stores right under the V berth cushions. I'm going the marine ply route without the drop leaves; just going to make the table narrower for ease of access to the V. I'm a simple guy so I gonna make a simple table
