I was looking thru some catalogs and found a Garelick outboard motor bracket in West Marine that will handle 115# and has a wide base like the stock mount. The best part is that Cabela's has it for 144.99 about 45.00 cheaper. Also Cabela's has a MARCUM TECHNOLOGIES battery monitor that connect to your batteries and tell you the percentage of charge. This list for 24.99. Just thought someone might be interested.
You're referring to the Garelick 71056... DON'T GET IT! My P.O. put that bracket on for an older, lighter Honda 8, and it was not up to the task--a waste of money. The one to get from Garelick is 71091 (also in the West catalog for a reduced price). It's made of cast aluminum, has more vertical travel for XL shafts, and has heavier springs for lifting 4-strokes. The extra boat unit is well-spent. The new version of the original Garhauer unit, available from Catalina Direct, has also worked well for several people here.
