Hi All, anyone that is having problems with there old portlights should read the article in the March/April issue about a guy who made is own exterior flush portlights for his Tartan. I've reread it several times and am going to make my own. The total price is about $40.00 vs. $700.00 for the kit that is available from someone that I can not remember. I read all the posts abour refirbing my factory portlight and I think I can fabricate and install these flush mounts in the same amount of time. Cheers.

Dennis,

This sounds like an excellent idea and if I were to do my windows again, I'd surely opt for something like this. I'll have to pick up the magazine for future reference.

Thanks for the info, Dennis. I have a couple broken portlights that need to be replaced on my boat, and that article will save me a lot!
