A officers meeting was held via teleconference on 5/8/06.
The officers welcomed Kevin Mackenzie as the new secretary.
Jim went over the duties of secretary, to set expectations for Kevin. They are primarily:
1.) To take minutes at board meetings. 2.) To respond to member inquiries about magazine subscriptions, membership area access, etc. 3.) To email the Telltale to the membership promptly.
Kevin agreed to make a proposal at the next meeting about the best mechanism for mass emailing of the Telltale.
The officers unanimously declared that: 1.) It is important that all members be given an opportunity to vote in association elections. 2.) Best efforts should be made avoid the association being dominated by racers or frequent web posters.
A discussion of the current financials for this years nationals was held. The event will either break even or have a tiny profit (less than $100) based on current income and expense projections.

Could you please elaborate. Has this been, or is this a problem?
---------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you Officers for a job well done! And Kevin, thank you for volunteering.
Perception is everything and this time of year the focus on the Nationals is sometimes misinterpreted as racers in charge of the association. The language in the minutes is just our way of reinforcing the idea that each member has one vote. Of course the association will reflect the efforts of those who bother to exercise that vote. Our association is very healthy right now and has a wonderful cross section of interests represented by the active membership.
The comment represents the committement of the board to email the TellTale to all 600+ members, not just let membership issues be discussed on the Forum or at the Nationals. We have many members who do not visit the forum very often. We are going to be reaching out to these by email, as we did last year with the call for nominations and ballots.
