I have started a program of scanning the product manuals for much of the equipment that I own. I can then retain a copy electronically that would be useful when the original document gets lost, wet, or otherwise unreadable. How would forum members/moderators feel about scanning owner's manuals for the equipment they have on their boats and posting them online? I'm sure many of us have the same equipment i.e. Signet SL172 depth finder. It would be useful for those of us that may have already lost our original manuals.

Scanning the entire manual might take some time. If someone has a specific problem and asks for the pertinent info, I would be more than willing to post it. I would also consider sending a copy of the complete manual via snail mail, or sections via email. Ask and ye shall recieve.
Also keep in mind that many manufacturers are now making their manuals available on their Web sites. Defunct companies, on the other hand, are another issue.
When it comes to electronics, I suspect that there is such a wide variety of specific units installed on our boats, especially the C-25s, that very few manuals would be of interest to very many people.
That said, it's a good idea that might work for some items... But it will add a chore for the association's "underpaid" staff.
Let me also suggest that forums like trailersailor.com can be good resources when you're looking for things like this. No electronic item is peculiar to Catalina 25s, 250, or Capri 25s.
