I have the IDA Rudder and love it. It did however take some modification to get it on the boat and was not quite as the folks at IDA are fond of saying...boat ready. If you want to avoid the work, my suggestion is to buy their "with tiller" model as that may make it possible to just hang it on your gudgeons and go. I would ask VERY pointed questions about that before purchase. Regarding performance it reduced weather helm and round-ups quite a bit and has allowed me access some of the more shallow areas of our bay and its river tributaries. Needless to say when fully extended its longer blade makes riding the swells in the ocean easier. All in all I would recommend it.
