I received a Garmin 76 for fathers day.
I was hoping some of you that have one could tell me your opinion on this model.

Nice unit, you will wish you had the 76 MAP though so if you can trade it in on the MAP model the people who gave it to you will never know. The MAPs will display local maps off of CDs.

Actually, I think it is the MAP model.
It mentions downloading from Mapsource CD's on the box.
How much do the mapsource CD's go for?

I have that unit - the map is overrated in my opinion. Just downloaded some free software from the web and some free charts from NOAA and have the two working in unison - in a sense, I got the maps for free.
