Bill,

Congratulations on the purchase!! No champagne here, but I hoist my pint of Sierra Nevada to your good fortune! You'll love the boat.

Congratulations! Let us know how far you want to drive & what type of marina you prefer & maybe we can help you out with "where to keep it".

Thanks for the help on this forum. Catalina owes the forum users a commission.

I hope to keep it as close to DC as possible, but this year I think I will be forced to go anyplace I can get in the water. I hope to wind up in the Washington Sailing Marina, but can't get in there until 9/30.

Bren, you wouldn't happen to fly 737's would you?

Bill

Bill,
We don't give all this free and expert advice and expect a commission, for heavens sake, just pictures of the new addition will do!

Bill,

Yes, as a matter of fact I do fly 737's. The address was my daughter's idea. She knows when it comes to computers, I've got to keep things simple, HA.

You're correct on the value of this association forum. The abundance of advice, opinions and knowlege on the forum were a DEFINITE factor in my deciding on a Catalina. The people here are extremely friendly and helpful. It's nice to have such a large support group.

Happy sailing on the new boat! What's her name?

My wife aka admiral flys 767's.

Early front runner for name is "Compromise" for obvious reasons. "Sea Car" for my daughters Selene and Carly. Anybody have any great ideas. I'm not the most creative person on the planet.

Thanks again for everyones help.

Bill

Congrats, Bill! But the name "Compromise" is like the name "Boat". No hurry on the name--the perfect one will dawn on you one day. Music and literature can offer some inspirations... Ours came named, so our short list of favorites is on hold.

The fun begins!

Congrats on the addition to the family! I know this forum certainly swayed my decision on which boat to buy (Thank you everyone).

I dunno, but I think you'll be having so much fun with the boat that "Compromise" could, well, be a bit demeaning. Might hurt the boat's feelings .
