I am installing a Garmin GPS 192 in the aft cabin bulkhead on the starboard side, next to my factory installed ST40 (or actually below and to the left).

I am puzzled about how to proceed in part of the install though. I have hole sawed the hole in the aft cabin bulkhead for the GPS head. This bulkhead seems to be made of fiberglass honeycomb. Does this have to be sealed with epoxy? If so, how do I do it, since it is a near vertical surface? Only thing I can think of is to mask everywhere and paint it on to the edge of the hole. That is going to be a fine mess...

Hope someone can answer the question quickly, I need to finish this job tomorrow, get the boat packed, and get on the road early on the 4th!

Paul,

Sorry, I won't have time to do that until this evening, and by then it will be done, one way or another. The bulkhead material is hard and not very porous, now that I have done the deck, I see what the soft core material is like. So I am going to skip sealing it for now, if that is the wrong decision, then I'll have to take the bulkhead stuff apart when I return from Puget Sound.

I will check this site one more time in about 45 min to see if there is an answer. After that, well, I would still like the answer, but it will be too late for today.

Thanks,
