I did a search of "cleaning" and "fenders" and saw opinions of acetone, white wall cleaner, and one other that I don't recall.

Nothing I have tried is working. What have you used to clean those nasty, discolored fenders?

I think I used everything that I had laying around including: Boat Wash, Cleaner Wax and the first step solution of Poliglow. Between the three and probably one other thing, they came out pretty good. This was on the extra fenders the previous owner had laying under the cockpit in the large storage area. The fenders were at one time white and arer again white with some shine. They probably were the original fenders or at least over 10 years old.

What I really need to do is pump up the blue fenders that I regularly use. They are okay but could use a bit more air. These seem to have maintained their color/shine. Must be much newer or were maintained. I think they can be pumped up with a bicycle pump.

At the beginning of every season, I wash my fenders, wipe them with Goof Off, then give them a coat of wax. Makes them look shiny new.

Last year I discovered Armor All.
I use it on the rubrail and on the fenders.
Be sure to NOT to get it on your wax as it will dissolve it and wash the fenders well after you’ve used it so they don’t rub the stuff into the wax.
I’m now thinking about using it on the rubber gaskets around the windows.

My fenders are many years old and looked awful, dingy and gray. Since they were originally white, I placed them in a mixture of water and clorox for several days truning them as necessary. That was two years ago and they still look good and white again.

what you use to clean them with, depends on what is on them. Our fenders had pier tar on them. Goof Off worked best to remove the tar, then we used bleach to remove the assorted and accumulated other stuff.
