Just wanted to let you know that this can be done and be competitive! We had our annual July 4th race (On our little lake up here in Maine!)and we did extremely well. Winds were blowing 10-15 with occaisional "puffs" up to 20+. We had about 20 boats from Lasers, Sunfishes, Hunter 23.5 & 24's, a Thistle, 3 Catalina's... 1 "25" and 2 "250wk's as well as a "variety" of others!! We started off with a reefed genny on the first leg. Had a great start and were in the lead pack. Not sure why, but we were pointing much better than most and were "working" the puffs all the way up.......Never had to tack all the way to the first mark! We let the genny out at the "mark" and held on!! Had a "reach" on the way to the 2nd mark and we were flying!! We actually hit 7.4 knots confirmed by GPS!! We were lucky and made very few mistakes and wound up being the 4th boat accross the finish line, being beat by 2 seconds by a Flying Scot at the finish line!! Had some some unexpected heavy puffs right at the finish line and both of us almost broached!! A very exciting race!! Yes we did win our division, with the other 2 Cats coming in 2nd and 4th. The best part, though, was coming in 2nd in Fleet on adjusted time!! On adjusted time, we actually beat the Thistle!!! That has never happened!! Had a great time and looking forward to our next race!!

I see your picture just fine in both posts Frank. Must be some sort of transient problem with your data connection. Try it again, click the "refresh" button on your browser (the one with the arrows just to the left of the little house if you are using current Internet Explorer).

Have been very happy with it.
