Since Capri 25 mains are VERY hard to find (used), I am looking at a J24 main which seems to have almost the same dimensions. I would like to shorten the luff of my tall rig's main in order to install a bimini, The luff of the J24 main is 26'3" (foot is 9'9"), so i think that it would work as well as the Capri 25 main. What do you C25 veterans think? I can get the sail at a good price!

You should be able to find one easily...However most J24 mains are mylar laminate or equivalent and even used are expensive. If you get one, look to take it off the boom and roll it after each outing to extend its life. You'll be paying a decent dollar for used mains.
I would also look at the J22 main sail. The bad thing about getting a used J sail is that most of the time these boats are raced hard, and put up wet. The sails are usually replaced before a re cut is needed, so you might get a good season out of them. Take a look at bacon sails, they have allot of used mains in stock, for that matter you can call them and give the dimensions you are looking for.
