I want to rig a chute on my boat. Where should I look to be sure I make my set up class legal? Pole length, sail dimensions, Where to attach to the mast? Pole height on the mast. Does anybody have a Spinnaker pole they want to sell? What is preferred Asym or Symmetrical? Can some of you post pictures of your hard ware set up so I can get some more ideas?
Thanks

whew! Why a chute and how many? That answers the Asym or Sym question. One chute, short handed, rarely flown in a regatta; Asym. More than one chute, regular trained full crew, competitive racing program; Sym. Your place on this continuum is discernible only by you.
Look in the class rules and manuals for details of the rigging, dig through the pages on the left in blue.
Been sailing chutes on boats since I was a kid. Not having one seems like not having my over drive gear. All my friends that sail with me are my racing buds so I just seems to fit.
Based on your comments both on this thread and in some others, I am guessing that you want a symetrical racing kite. The only class rules regarding the kite are kite size and pole size. Both can be found in the class rules. There is also a technical tip regarding rigging the boat for a symetrical spinnaker. Both links are below.
Yup, me loves the race. What better way to learn to sail. Racing forces you to sail the boat at its optimum level. Putsing around is fun but when two boats meet headed in the same direction it is fun to tweak and tune to see how fast we can make them go. Organized or not racing is a thrill and something to do while on the water. I've been racing boats since I was 12 years old, it is my addiction, thankfully a healthy one.
Plus coming from an Escow the 25 seems to be missing some lines, as they are known affectionatly as spaghetti factories, so I figure if I added a chute I'll feel little more at home. lol
