No, but we thought about you!! I enjoy following the antics of you Sound cruisers and look forward to joining you when we retire up there in a few years. How was the turnout?
Boats began to arive early Thursday to take advantage of the higher tide. Fishermans bay entrance is a S shape and Shalow to boot. Many of the larger boats could only come in and go out on the higher tide. Friday more boats came in and by Friday night I would guess there were 40 to 45 boats. Dave Calhoun our local music man played on the dock and we began our warm up party. 4 kegs of Full Sail Ale and who knows how much Rum was consumed. Dancing, music and good friends. As soon as the sun had set Ghost a local Formosa 41 set her main and boomed it out. Set up the DVD player and projector and we had movies on the dock. Treasure Island this time around. The kids from all the boats gathered with blankets and pillows and the weather was mild. In the mean time the adult partied hardy on the ajacent dock until the police showed up to shut us down. All in all not a bad night. Oh I almost forgot to mention the cannon fire. Gee do you think that might be why the cops showed up LOL. Saturday morning we began setting up the store for Latitudes and Attitudes Magazine. We had a pot luck at the resort, a piyata was brought out for the children. BBq's were lit and everyone awaited the arival of Eric Stone and his band. The stage was set and revelers began to pile into and around the resort. As always the staf was great even though overpowered by our crowd. One the band started there was no stoping the fun. Ruth and I were the only ones to show up in costume at first but as others saw us they snuck off to change. Here are a few pictures of the resort and party. Looks like next year it will be in Poulsbo with drive in access. We hope you can come and joing the fun.
Excellent pictures Doug!! You're not making it any easier for me to be fiscally responsible to save for retirement!! Maybe we can make it to Poulsbo...
We were up there last September and spent a night in Fisherman's Bay. Had to so we could say we made it in and out, no sweat. But the highlight I have to say was the Black & Bleu burger at Bucky's up in the village. With a couple of cold ales. Argh!
It's a toss up between the dog and skeleton for best looking at the party but I'm voting for the dog since he's obviously the smartest with the life jacket.
