Long or preferably extra long shaft, charging capability a big plus.

No mid 90's Evinrude made by Briggs and Stratton need apply.

Rick,

I have a 7.5 Evinrude, early 80's - 81' as I recall, no charging capability, I think it's an extra long shaft. I replaced it with a new Tohatsu 9.8. It was running fine, my wife had trouble operating it. I have no idea what it's worth but shipping may be prohibitive from MT to NH.

Thanks Dan.

I agree, I think the shipping might be an issue. I was also hoping for something newer.

Appreciate the thought though.

"The Boat Shop" in San Antonio has a 9.8h.p. Tohatsu with less than 4 hours on it. They are asking $850. It looks like a long shaft but I'm not totally sure. If you are interested call Wayne @ 210-659-7410
(no, I don't get a commission...)

Thanks Derek.

However, a 9.8 hp would be way too heavy for a Capri.
An 8 is even pushing it a bit.
