Has anyone else been having problems with windows opening on this forum? The General forum and the C-250 forum often open very slowly or not at all, and the C-25 Forum usually fails to open at all. When I try to open a window and read the messages under a specific topic, the computer tries to connect with the server for 2-3 minutes, and finally opens a blank screen. I have had this problem on my home computer, and also at the public library, which uses one of the high speed ISP's. It used to happen only occasionally, and I just ignored it, but lately it has been happening more often than not. Both my home PC and the one at the library are running JAVA. I have occasionally had similar problems with other websites, but not nearly as often. Is the server overwhelmed by all our chit-chat? What's up with that?

The problem lies with out service provider. I've been working with them (via email) for a number of weeks. The problems seem to have worsened. I made a few additional changes this morning to the code that may improve the situation. It is most likely that our provider made changes to their network operating system (including IIS on their NT Servers). Those changes may have affected our forums.

Although I can make no guarantees as to when the situation will improve, I am working (and have been working) to correct the problems.

Thanks, Mark. I appreciate your efforts on our behalf. I'll just be patient, knowing that you're working on it. It already seems better this morning.

I'll give my kudos also to Mark for working on it. It was frustrating this weekend in trying to get on. I thought for awhile it was my PC at home, but then on Monday I could hardly get through from work.

Thanks Mark! Good luck in getting it resolved!

Actually I apologize for the multiple posts, when I pressed the "post" button......nothing happened, so I repeated the "push". Anyway Thanks mark, everything seems to be much quicker this morning. I realize that this site should be a labor of love, but sometimes it's just a labor. We really appreciate your efforts to keep the site up . It keeps our sailing blood flowing.

Thanks Mark. I thought it was just my computer, and I was about to hit with an axe.
