My 81 C25 motor mount looks pretty sound, but the teflon bushings are dry rotted and falling apart. Does anyone know where I can find these bushings.I need a total of ten of them. Does Catalina sell them? Thank you for your help. Don

I'm not sure how helpful this will be, especially since I don't know exactly what you're looking for (I have a C250). However, my local Ace Hardware (same as TrueValue) has a surprising array of bushings available in their parts department. I think what you're actually looking for are Delrin bushings since Teflon is usually either a coating or embedded in the plastic of the part. If you've got a Lowes locally, they may still have their "good" parts department. Mine sadly has scaled back theirs to the point where I rarely make the trip there any more. We also have a place here locally called "McClendons" which advertises themselves as having "a little bit of everything", and they do. If you can get me exact measurements, I can probably find them for you there.

Check with Catalina Direct, or maybe Garhauer (the maker).

Don,

I rebuilt my motor mount with a kit from Garhauer that included brass bushings to replace my broken nylon bushings. I believe the kit was around $20-22.00. I also ordered a couple of the long pivot bolts to replace some bent ones.

If you do order the kit, be aware that some bushings are thicker than the others (I'm thinking two?) which go to a particular location on the motor mount.

Now is an opportune time to decide if the old mount meets your future needs. Is this a mount which is capable of lifting a modern 4 stroke? If the answer is yes then get the kit. If the answer is no then I recommend you expend the money and effort to refit with a new stronger unit. I installed a 4 spring Garhauer from Catalinadirect.com and have been very pleased.

Thank you for all your good response and info. Yes frank I would love to upgrade to a four stroke. it is someting to think about and i will check into it.I will rebuild this one mout the bushings sound cheap and if I (or will)up grade to 4 stroke I will have a extra mount for my day sailer. It is a great pleasure owning a C25. the Info on maintenence is great on this sight. The more I work on my C25 the more I see what a good built built it is. I see we all take pride in owning one, and sharing all our projects.. thank you all for your input. I dont think thier is another sight that is so active as this...later...Don

I agree with Frank, I also bought and installed a new Garhauer from Catalina direct and am very happy with it. My old mount couldnt handle the weight of my Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke.

Thanks for the bushing info, now I've got a new set of bushings on the way. FYI, takes 8 of them, and they're $2.50 each.

I've dealt with them before when I bought my Kayak rack. They were helpful with info and prompt in shipping.

Always nice to do business with someone that understands the customer.
