as i get older, i hurt more and more. sometime ago i saw a thread that talked about the extra cushions used in v berths. i thought it was the 1-1/2 inch thick memory cushions.
looking for some ideas to cut down on smashing the existing cushions and having my hips hurt.
i am a heavy weight and need some extra padding for the old aged frame.
thanks in advance.

I don't remember the thread you mentioned, so I don't know anything about the "memory" cushions. I bought one of those "egg crate" cushions at Bed, Bath & Beyond ... I think it was a full-size (i.e. for a "double" bed), and I cut it to fit in the V-berth. When I'm not using it, I roll it up, tie it in a bundle, and store it in the storage area below the V-berth.
There are probably cheaper places to buy it, and I suppose it might also come in different thicknesses. Whatever the case, the egg-crate cushion works well for me.
'Hope that helps ...
Edit: BTW, a big serrated bread knife works great for cutting the egg crate cushion.
I use a Tempur-pedic mattress topper from Sam's Club in my quarterberth. Maybe you should try the quarterberth, I can't imagine using the V-berth on a 25, it is a sorry example of a v-berth, if you have ever had a boat with a good one you would look elseware for a place to sleep. I also have placed my table athwartship and slept there, use the cushions from the long settee.
We have a 2" memory foam (Burdines/Macy's) that I trimmed to fit the V-berth. We roll it up a keep it fwd of the athawtships seat back during the day. Works great for us.. It will be better when I finish our new table so that it will not interfear either side of the mast support.
