Actually, either side might be a factory bracket installation. Prior to Catalina redesigning the portside cockpit locker to include a seperate fuel tank locker, the factory installed the OB bracket on the port side of the transom. After the seperate fuel tank locker was part of "running upgrades in design", the bracket was installed by the factory on the starboard side of the transom. This change took place in the late '70s or early '80s.

thanks for the info Bill, the Jellyfish is 1987, and the motor is of course on the starboard side. I assumed that is where it should be after reading discussions on the C22 mounts on the port and some move up sailors(from 22 to 25) mistakenly mounted their 25 like their 22.

Thanks Bill. You will also notice neither of the boats has a list. It was good to visit with Doug and his family. I hope we will be seeing them in the South Sound this summer along with John. If there are any other readers who are in the south let us know if you will be out on the water and we will watch for you. Plans are firming up and we leave July 20th to go south for a week. Destinations and what day we will be at them is open since most south destinations are less than 1 day apart. McMiken Island, Percival landing, Jarel cove, Penrose point, Allyn and Gig Harbor are all on the list.

Douglas,

What do you mean the boats don't have a list, everyone knows its all about the angle of the water

I'll bet BOTH boats have lists! Like mine: Install deck organizers and halyard stoppers, refinish exterior teak, install 12v outlet, fix galley sink drain, install solar vent, buy and install bimini,...
