My wife and I will be in San Francisco from December 8-11, can anyone advise how thne wind is on the bay for sailing at that time of the year? "Leprechaun" is currently in the "Barn" for the winter. , But we will be in SF for a nephews wedding and have thought of the possiblity of sailing on the bay. Any Input would be helpful. Many Thanks,

Alan,
Dec. on SF Bay is usually calm.
It can range from no wind to a rare stormy gail.
It's colder than San Diego, warmer than Ohio.
Do you have a boat lined up?
Which city will you staying?

Check OCSC sailing school. They have J-25 that are fun! fun!. The school is located at the Berkley Marina. And rent boats out!

Alan - My C25 is in the Berkeley marina. I'd be happy to take you out on Saturday - We're busy racing on Sunday the 10th - but that might be when the wedding is? Anyway, if you want to try to give it a go shoot me an email (see profile) and we can coordinate. Another option is the Cal Sailing club in the Berkeley Marina. They have a huge fleet of small boats and it's basically free (see http://www.cal-sailing.org/). Regarding OCSC (and I know them well), you have to be a member of OCSC (and US Sailing certified) to charter their boats.
