Has anyone installed a single line reefing system like the one Harken sells on their boat. By the looks of the diagram my boat already has some of the items needed to build this. I'm not certain why the need for the turning block on the aft end of the boom to be on a track. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the Harken system, but my C25 had a track on the boom for the reefing line, as does my present boat. The purpose is so that you can mount two movable cheek blocks on the boom - one for a single reef and another one for the second reef. By having separate reef lines for each reef point, you don't have to re-run the reef line if you want to take in your second reef. You can adjust them so that they pull the sail down to the boom at the correct angle.

Hi Steve, that is is system I have on my boat. The only change I made to it was to attach the line at the head of the boom, then up to the reeflet, then down to the cheek block, back to the read cheek block, then up through the reeflet, then down so I can pull the line from the cockpit. Cheers.
