Contrary to Practical Sailor's report earlier this year, my boat did very well with VC17m on it for the season. I did get some barnicles, on the depth sounder (not painted) and on the rear boot stripe which actually is submersed most of the time, again, not VC17 there. The bottom of the keel got some weeds, but I was unable to paint that before the move to Maine, so no surprise.
After pressure washing the only places that were down to the barrier coat were the very front of the bow (probably from "hobby horsing" on the mooring) and where the trailer pads rubbed.
I was thinking of changing to another type of bottom paint for next season, but I really see no reason to whatsoever. I will put extra coats on the tip of the bow, rear boot stripe and definately get the bottom of the keel.
