What is the best way to winterize my 250 WB. I live in northern Calif and we do get some snow and freezing, but not too much. I will be keeping my boat in the water. Is it better to add a suitable antifreeze to the water tank or to pump/drain it? I'm referring to the onboard water for the sink etc. If I do need to pump it out what's the best way??? I feel that while the boat is in the water the WB tank should be ok because the lake water doesn't normally freeze. What are your feelings???
Secondly, I added Arlyn's open wire system and an Ida rudder to help with the weather helm, and they work great. The rudder is a beaching rudder and it works great. My son had perfect control with 20-25 kph of wind. Two finger steering!!! The open wire system gives you the control and feel that the boat should have. Good work Arlyn and thanks! Is worth every penny! By the way this boat is an 06.
Let me know your feels thanks Bruce

hey Bruce, I drain my house water tank , Then take the feed line off and add antifreeze to the line with a funnel.(easer to wash out in the spring) The water balest I dont know , I would think if its half empty or more if it freezes it will have room to expand. I dont know if theres any lines to it.
it only takes one freeze to break something I would winterize it.
and Arlyns kit does look good and a great price .How was it to install
