Here is most of the stuff I did to my boat since last December when I bought here. Cheers.
Here is the polished compass. I could not see the compass rose before polishing. I used Maas metal polish. The GPS is nice but I still use the compass more often.
Here are the slot covers I made out of Home Depot carpet trim.
Here my quick-reef ties off to the boom
Then up through the forward reed
Out and down. You can also see the fixed reef lines on the main….very nautical looking.
Then to the cheak block on the mast, then back through a couple guides.
Here you see the red reef line end at the cleat on the end of the boom. I can reef without moving from the tiller. Also you can see the outhaul for the main.
Here I did a lot of work. New mast step, new plate for blocks, two quick disconnects, one for the lights wiring and one for the antenna cable. You can also see the solar fan that replaced the passive vent. You can also see were I removed the winches from the mast. They were junk. Also rigged a boomvang and downhaul.
Here is the new(used) winch I mounted on the Starboard side as well as the Deck Organizer and clutches (thanks Frank for the Deck Organizer and Clutches)
Here is the Port winch I mounted. Both winches came from Gene – Thanks.
Obviously I am still looking for a Deck Organizer and Clutch for the port side.
Here is the refinished tiller. If you didn’t notice, this is the most *$%#@!- up stern rail in Michigan.
Here is the new motor board in white. I spent over $300.00 getting the motor tuned and running right.
Here you can see the new pintals and gudgeons from CD. I also had to glass up the rudder. This is the one that leaked beer when I set it on the bench.
Here I replaced the old wood trim with the white plastic one from CD. I also mounted the CamCleats for the jibsheet.
Here is the starboard side, same thing. Also, on both sides, the speakers were not screwed into the bulkhead nor sealed. Leaked like a syve (sp)
New hasp on the smoked plexiglass hatch boards.
New SS spreader sockets from CD
New mast light from WM
New shives, windex, antenna, antenna cable, wiring
GPS and Depth finder on swing
Swung out of the way
New (used) radio from someone here in the forum (sorry can’t remember name but thank you) Also the new breaker panel.
Properly mounted the AMFMCD. It was actually duct taped to the bulkhead.
Mounted the battary switch. It was not mounted. When ever I turned it, it would just spin.
Battary charger mounted and hard wired. What a great invertion.
and of course our new Port-a-potty. Gotta love it.
What you don’t see are all the hours washing the inside and out. Four of the life line stansions were bent over and cracked, so I replaced all four of them. I redid the haul with Poli-Ox. Added a number of deck plates to get at the areas under the deck that acumulate water from my VERY leaky ports (this winters project) total rewired the boat. Turn buckle under the table, white plastic trim around the tiller cutout. Also, EVERY Stay and Shroud was connected by ¼ rusty Home Depot bolts. They were all bent from the pressure.
Wow Dennis, that looks great!!! You have really been busy. Seeing the pictures really motivates me to get going on my winter projects (well just as soon as my trailers done and bring the boat home). I'm sure a few other members are thinking the same thing.
Hi Gene, having the boat in your yard will be great. I had to drive one hour each way just to get to the boat. I should have taken a picture of the stasions I got from you. They look great. I will email you about the ladder and stern pulpit this week. Cheers.
Great job and pictures but get me up to speed about where the beer was spilled. I want to get started again on my winter projects after seeing what you have accomplished. I have some items to move and replace so will take pictures. Thanks
It has worked out great. Here is the only pic I have of it. I have front and side windows as well and in a storm I can sit forward a little and am protected for the most part. The only problem I with it is it make it difficult to get my fat $%& around it when going forward. Cheers.
