I agree Tom. That is one bad skier. I saw a website some time ago for a person crossing the Atlantic in a boat using a kite for power. Cheers.

the board guys are determined to break 50 knots before the hyrdo-foil boats do. I think they got the outright speed record back from "Yellow Pages Endeavour" last year(http://www.macquarie.com.au/speedsailing/background.htm)

Saw a pair of kiters in Maui last year. I was impressed with how high they went. Maybe even more impressed with the kind of weather they were out in, stormy, wind 20knts +, low-vis. Made me wonder about how closely they were being watched by someone with a chase boat. I watched them with binoculars for over an hour, they were way off-shore and I couldn't see any boats that looked like they were with them.
Maybe they're in Australia now.
