My name is Greg Phillips. My wife and I sail on Lake Sinclair in middle Ga. We have a C22 that we are presently trying to sell.
We just recently purchased a 1990 wing keel, sail number 6001. Prior to buying the boat I was in contact with Frank Hopper and picked his brain about the C25 wing keel. He was a great deal help and I really appreciated all of his insight.
My first of many questions:
My boat came with a built in head. When I try to pump the water into the head nothing happens. I move the switch on the head to the fill position, prior to pumping. The pump handle does move up and down, but no water into the bowl.Any suggestions?
One more question. What is the law concerning fixed heads when sailing on inlakes?
There is most likely a valve up under the vee berth or under the forwrd sink that controls the head intake. On many of the boats with a perm head the forwrd sink drain handles double duty as a drain and intake. I'd check there first.
Welcome Greg!!! This is a great site: you will always get answers to your questions and the Tech Tip section is loaded with great mods. You talked to the right guy before you bought your boat....Frank knows a lot about them. Cheers.
Greg, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy the increase in liveability of the C25. Looks to me like you purchased the pick-of- the-litter, based on your sail number, assuming the PO took care of her.

Too much boat for not enough money, and just about the nicest 25-footer ever! I can't help with the marine head--I was happy with a porta-potti. Is the water coming from the lake (a thru-hull) or from the tank, as in another recent discussion here? Usually it's the former.
You might also try checking the valve in the pump housing on the head itself. On my Jabsco there is a leather valve with a metal disc attached that activates when you turn your switch to "fill' or "flush". Sometimes the metal disc adheres to the plastic and won't allow water into the toilet if stuck in the flush mode. I believe there are six screws securing the handle cover. I generally lube the discs with a little vaseline.
A word of warning though. Do not overtighten the screws on the cover. The plastic is very brittle and the screw seats will snap and cause a lead.
