You screw it to the bowdeck, add a boom to a non overlapping jib and you have a self tending headsail. Since the WBs ship with 110s they may be a candidate for the conversion.
My last boat was a cutter rig with a boomed staysail. I didn't care much for the boom and would have preferred a loose footed staysail. It does tack nicely, but the thing is an obstruction on the foredeck and an ankle knocker extraordinaire. The closest I ever came to serious disaster had in part that darn staysail boom to blame. Well, I have to take a little blame too.

The sheet can only pull straight down to the traveler, so it can't shape the sail properly by itself--the outhaul on the boom holds the clew back to flatten the sail. It can also be rigged so the the outhaul can be adjusted from the cockpit.
