Thought I would share my ideas with putting together a winter cover and skelton. Click on my sailblog to go to the entry and more pictures. One note on a cover. I purchased one locally at TSC that was 20' x 30' and it worked well, except that it had plastic grommets and no rope in the seam. many of the grommets tore out when we had some high winds. I then purchased the Sun Shield cover that someone had indicated in another posting. This tarp had a very heavy seam and alluninum grommets. Also learned that it really secures the tarp better by wrapping the tarp under the hull then to tie it to the trailer. the skelton part was the biggest help as it allows easy access to the boat for winter projects.

Cool frame. I like it's simplicity. Did you glue the connectors or leave them alone? Is that pipe insulation covering the angles? How many "ribs" did you make for the boat? One for each stanchion or is that overkill?

I've had my O'Day in Pymatuning once. Would like to go back for a longer trip with it someday. Will Water Walker get wet there or Lake Erie?

John,
I didn't glue them, they stay together just fine without. They will also break down for easy storage. Also going to mark them with a sharpie when I remove so they will go back even quicker. I felt the pipe insulation on the 45 elbows will help in longevity of the tarp. I did put one at each stantion. The cost and time is so low, why not. Also, I had to run the two pieces the length of the boat to help support the tarp. Pymatuning will be it's home for now. May take it on Erie at the islands for a long weekend.
