Awhile-back one of our members posted a tread regarding a tiller extension product - Skipfriend. The product looks great, and I would really like to purchase one. I've e:mailed both contacts in Florida and Italy and haven't received a reply. Does anyone have information on this product; maybe they are out business etc.

Hi Jeff... The picture on the site shows what I'd consider to be a nasty piece of hardware on the cockpit seatback. I've seen a better version from Forespar where the ball on the end of the tiller extension fits into a box that's recessed into the seatback. Presumably, you cut a small rectangular hole and set the box into it. You can see it in the West catalog (p. 1033 in mine).

We have a Forespar Tiller Tender (With tiller extension). It came with the boat and works just great. We would recommend it. Check Boat US, West Marine or Defender.
