Rumor has it that the Capri-25 fleet at the Wayzata Yacht Club (Just west of Minneapolis, MN) will be holding our annual one-design regatta on the weekend of Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September. Official details and NOR to follow.

Before anyone starts flaming me, I know the universe of Capri-25 owners extends way, way beyond the shores of beautiful Lake Minnetonka. That is precisely why I’m extending this early invitation to come and race with us. As you plan your 2007 race program, please consider adding this event to your calendar. Even if you can’t bring your own boat, other opportunities may be available.

I know Minnesota is not what would normally considered traditional sailing waters. However, many other well respected national fleets have chosen to hold their events here on Lake Minnetonka, including: More than 90 E-Scows at their national championships, and more than 60 J22’s who raced their North Americans under the slogan “it’s not that far!”

Previous Capri-25 regattas have been greatly enhanced by the participation of friends from out-of-town, including Dragon Lady from Rochester, New York who won the event in 2004.

Here's a link to some photos from the 2006 event: http://www.dallasjohnson.net/photo/c25-1.htm

The WYC offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, close and competitive racing, outstanding race management, great food, even better entertainment, and enough Mount Gay to ease the aches and pains of a day on the water.

Come and join us in September. We look forward to seeing you here.

The WYC scheduled confirms the dates. So it is no longer a rumour.

The weekend promises to be a wonderful festival of sailing, with exciting racing, and fun shore-side activities.

I also know the town of Wayzata has their annual "James J. Hill Days" event. So there are events for non-sailing members of your group. http://www.wayzatachamber.com/jameshilldays.html

I'll post the link to the NOR as soon as they are finalised.

We look forward to seeing you here.

It sounds like a great time to be had by all. This organization supports fleets all over the country and would be delighted to add the Wayzata fleet to our roster anytime.

The event is now titled Capri-25 One Design Championship.
