Hey Buck, I am the past commodore. You will get a welcome letter from the commodore with the secret code to the members only area. Don't get too excited, it just lists some special discounts you are now elligible for plus our quarterly Telltale newsletter. Also, you'll start getting the Catalina magazine, the Mainsheet. It comes out once per quarter.

This is a volunteer organization and there just was an election with some turnover in officers so things don't run like you might expect from a fortune 500 corporation. Or then again, maybe they do!

Thanks for joining and now you can also order a burgee and fly it with pride!

Buck,

If you would like to email you name and address to me at kevin@catapult.biz, or call me at 360-260-5108 (my business, it will answer Catapult Internet Partners, just ask for me, best time to call is weekends and evenings, I have no life), I will investigate what's up with your membership. Lu Ann batches the memberships, processes them approximately quarterly, and you missed the deadline for the last Telltales with your join date, so it is quite possible that you would not have received anything yet. You will get a welcome letter, and the Telltales magazine when your membership is processed.

I am unhappy to learn that the officers emails are incorrect. I just checked mine on the Flag Line and Staff web page (see list on your screen at left), and it is correct. The other officers addresses look correct to me to, so I am puzzled. Please let me know what email addresses you tried that did not work, so I can investigate that too.

Sorry for your trouble, it is not what we intend.

Buck, dont be to disheartened...I took them a bit to get to me also...Just be patient, it will happen. You will really enjoy the Mainsheet mag, but I think the jewel of the Association is this forum. There are some great folks that respond, and for almost every issue you post you will get good answers...some light hearted..but always good constructive comments...I have posted a few and got good answers to all my post save one. And when get closer to that project I will post again. You may not get the answers you want, but the ones you do get will help you rule out other thoughts....so welcome to the Association and Happy Sailing

Well, Jim, I worked with people from all over COSD when I was out there--not just the Sheriffs...

Welcome to the group Buck.

Of course I don't know about any organization which would allow me to be a member though. (Stole that one from Mark Twain, I think)

Thanks Dave, it was Groucho

I'm a big fan of quotes

In light of Frank's big contribution to (I won't get political here), here's another of my favorite quotes:

Will Rogers said: "It's a good thing we don't get all the government we pay for".
