Ok...simply put does anyone have instructions/advice on changing the impellor on the Nissan 9.8. I was thinking I would attempt this if it was a simple operation.
I see where I can buy a manual for about 35.00 bucks. But I am holding off.
Thanks,

Bob, Sorry about your unfortunate Fathersday thing, but I have an owners manual for the Tohatsu 9.8 four stroke (AKA Nissan)motor 2005/6 age. If it will help I'll dig it up and get the info to you somehow.
Incidentally Bob, I'm curious as to why the motor needs a new impellor. If it's a new Nissan/Tohatsu four stroke how did the impellor go down. And if it is a new motor it should be covered by the warantee. Have you checked with them?
Thanks I would appreciate the instructions. The warranty is out in 2 months. I am not even sure the impeller needs to be changed or is under warranty. I was just going to change it as this would be my 3rd season and I figured 2 seasons would put enough wear on the impeller to change it.
The impellor is considered a wear item. 3rd year is a good time to replace. No sense risking the engine for a $30 part. Most small ob's are the same. drop the lower unit, replace the parts, re-install. Gives you a good opportuity to check things out. So far everything on the engine is easy to work on. I have checked the valves, and changed the oils on mine. I will not get into all the maintenace called for by the manual until something needs attention.
I will do the impellor after my 2nd year though. I got my manual on fleabay for $10. It is a very basic manual of about 20 pages.
