I purchased a $5.00 led utility light with magnetic on/off switch (and manual shut off) from Harbor Freight. Installed it so that it turns on when the gally cubpoard door is opened. Now I can see in there easily even when it's dark. Probably the coolest, easiest and very effective mod for just $5.00

Attached unit to the underside of the galley sink with self adheasive pad and the magnetic swtich to the fwd edge of the door and cupboard.

Oooooh! big boat tricks!

Yeah, a neat item, but only available on the Harbor Freight online website; it's not available at their retail stores. With shipping, it's close to a 10 buck item, not 5.

I bought mine at the local harbor freight store. Then I looked up the unit online, the one online is different, mine is white and looks much nicer.

It seems that I have a nack for finding discontinued items at harborfeight.

I found this light there (margate store florida) this evening.

Works like a charm! I removed the aft screw cap from the stbd side rope clutch in the cabin roof above the galley. Removed the lights flexible arm, drilled out the plastic cap that secures the arm to the lamp, then just screwed the cap screw thru the plastic cap and secured the lamp to the cabin roof underside.

Works a treat.

I'm seriously getting into stand alone LED lights after running out of house batteries this weekend.
