Hello All,

I usually keep my boat just up the river from the boat yard I use, at a private rental slip.
The cost just went up though, 1850.00 for the season.
Is there anyone else on Long Island that can recommend an alternative.
I'm currently in Sayville, but wouldn't mind going a little east or west of there if I can save some $$$.

Thanks
Scott

That sounds like a bargain. Last year when I shopped around I got prices around 110.00 per foot plus winter storage was additional and mandatory. Those prices were from marinas on the North and South Forks. I live in Speonk.

Start calling the mom and pop shops; they will be your best bet. Don't get me wrong the owners very great and very nice and honest, but I was in Bridgeport at a mom & pop shop. Not a very pretty marina (to say the least,) but my Catalina 25 was in a slip for about $2,600 for the summer. $2,600 is practically a bargain for CT/NY. You may be better off trying to find a mooring.

WOW - $2300 for THE YEAR?
On Great Peconic Bay, it's more like $2,300 for the season and ANOTHER $1,300 for the winter storage, plus shrink wrapping, mast stepping, OB winterizing....and that's only with water and the showers...
Makes me think about moving to the Great South Bay.
