I have been researching information about installing the Taylor Bimini mentioned in technical tip; Brooke Wilson's Bimini for SK Tall Rig. However; the part no. mentioned in this article is depicted as West Marine #62134. The current 2007 West Marine Catalog has a Taylor part number #62345 for a bimini that has a width range of 79 to 84. I found out from Taylor that this frame is set at factory at 81".By all appearance's this bimini seems to be the same as the one in the above mentioned article. I'm addressing my main question to Brian Smith. Did you have to do any bending to make the bimini fit your boat?
Keep in mind that Brooke is using a different main sail on his boat than a regular tall rig main. This means the bimini he used won't fit on another tall rig boat unless they alter the main/boom height.
Don's exactly right -- I used a Capri 25 sail, and relocated the traveler.
The bottom of the bimini easily adjusts a few inches in and out. That allows the sliders to be moved forward or aft on the track. If you're not going to relocate your traveler, your bimini will have to be farther forward, which may be wider than where mine sits.
