Duane moved and Kevin seconded approval of the previous minutes, and the previous minutes were approved.
Duane moved and Ben seconded that we add an Admiralty forum for former owners of our boats that have moved on to other designs. The motion was approved.
Discussion began on whether to add email notification for each message posted to the Capri25 forum.
Duane pointed out that there is an RSS feed for each of our forums.
Frank suggested that if email notification is what the Capri folks want, and we have the technology, why not provide it.
Duane moved and Frank seconded that we add email notification to the Capri 25 forum only. The motion was carried, and Duane took the action to implement it.
It was pointed out by (someone) that Dennis needs to get Fleet 36 information into the magazine. (someone) took the action to ask Dennis to do this.
Kevin sheepishly reported that he has been paying our hosting fees and for the Telltales mailing personally for several months without asking for reimbursement. He promised to get Ben an accounting so he can get reimbursed.
Kevin reported that we have a new fleet, fleet 36, in Nashville, TN, now shown on the fleet captain page in Flag Line and Staff on the association web site.
Ben gave a report on the financial condition of the association. Ben took the action to work with LuAnn and determine if there is a decline in membership year over year, and if we are making enough income to pay association expenses, a concern that JB (former treasurer and now contract bookkeeper) has repeatedly expressed.
Rick reported that the Capri25 yahoo group has been shut down. He says that Chris is leading the charge on getting materials moved on to the association web site that were formerly lodged on the yahoo group.
Rick pointed out that Capri participation in the nationals is complicated by the fact that it is more difficult to trailer a Capri 25 due to the width of the boat requiring permits in many states.
(someone) proposed that exclusive Capri 25 fleets (rather than C25/250 and Capri 25 fleets) be allowed, if they were desired. No opposition to this was voiced by the officers, and no action items were assigned.
Rick moved and Frank seconded that Chris McKillip be given temporary moderator access to the Capri 25 section to facilitate the transfer of data from the former yahoo site. The motion carried. Frank agreed to contact him, Rick is available to help if asked.
Bill reported that the nationals are on course. Bill suggested that pictures on our site (of the nationals I think, my notes are not clear here) might help promote the event. No motion was made and no action items assigned.
Bill suggested that we need to get more folks to announce cruising events. The officers all agreed, but to my recollection no action items were assigned.
Bill moved that there be a racing forum added to the web site. Discussion ensued. The motion was tabled.
Duane moved and Bill seconded that a racing forum be added to the site, as well as a cruising forum. The motion carried, and Duane took the action to implement it.
The meeting was adjourned.
